A Japanese retail company, which sells a wide variety of products from snacks and stationary to clothes and household goods. Muji, meaning “no brand”, is known for design minimalism, and all products are packaged simply and minimally. Its primary business includes Café MUJI, florist, and home furnishing. The store has over 280 stores in Japan, and also 69 shops overseas. Although, the company distinguishes itself as “no brand”, products produced by famous designers are featured recently.

  • MUJI may actually sell everything one can think of. They have a clothing department, which I am not a fan of. The clothes, as keeping with the MUJI image and all very plain and casual.   • I know that Muji is supposed to be a really good brand, which is why I went. True to its name, it's very, very simple. I definitely like that when it comes to household goods, but I wasn't impressed with the clothing--it didn't seem worth the price. That being said, they had some really cute items, and I was entertained wandering around the store. I don't think I'd ever end up buying much there.

  • Muji reminds me of a high class 100 yen shop, Uniqlo and Ikea packaged into one store. Nothing was overly appealing or called out to me.   • I like Muji a lot. It's not very expensive clothing and household goods and furniture. It makes me think a little bit of what it might be like if GAP and IKEA joined forces and tried to not be a name brand.   • I must say while I love Muji's idea of the whole no/nothing brand, I can't help but feel like they did become a brand. For such plain clothes, I do think the prices are a little high. While yes, the clothes are adorable and great to fill in those basic needs, I always find myself reverting to Uniqlo for the most basic of necessities.
