Tokyo Dome is home to a baseball stadium and its glitzy entourage of shops, eateries, arcades, and sights catering to baseball lovers and non-lovers alike. Tokyo Dome aims to emulate the American fair. It is complete with arcades, fast food, and open spaces, as well as special exhibits like the Baseball Café (which doubles as a restaurant) and a crafts and cookware market. Tokyo Dome is located not too far from Iidabashi and Korakuen stations and is in the middle of a busy city neighborhood. Nonetheless, it has a roller coaster, water rides, and a Ferris Wheel.
With lots of children, crowds, hot dogs, crepes, and nachos, Tokyo Dome is a great place to experience carnival fun whether or not there’s a baseball game going on. However, keep in mind that Tokyo Dome is not indicative of the bright and shiny spotlessness found in other parts of Japan; it takes after fairs in that it can be called slightly grimy and even sketchy in dark corners (of course, I was also here on a cloudy day). Still, Tokyo Dome is a great place to visit and get in touch with your inner child.
