  • The most important thing you can learn to say in a foreign language is, “I love you.” The second most important thing is, “I'll have the beef cheeks.” By the Megura river in Nakameguro, there's a small cafe that serves this divine food. Unveil Cafe serves a kind of French/European/Japanese fusion, but they really got the beef cheeks perfect. The interior of the cafe is chic, but not overwhelmingly so. The emphasis here is on the food and the conversation. While the service isn't lacking, the wait time is rather protracted. For this reason, it's perfect for a causal but intimate date. While I was enraptured by my beef cheeks, the other parts of the meal were also noteworthy. The appetizers were very much fusion cuisine. There were wieners, onion rings drizzled with mustard, and small octopuses stuffed with a garlic relish. After dinner, a slightly sweet cake was served, which was delicious in a wholesome way. Unveil Cafe is a little bit pricey. During dinner, entrees start at 1500 yen.
