Homework's was the first gourmet hamburger place in Tokyo, dating back to 1985. A casual restaurant located on the shopping street at Hiroo, their buns, patties and vegetables are all top notch. Their avocado burger is popular with both the Japanese and foreign crowd that often fill up the space. Deliveries available for orders over 2,000 yen. They run branches at Roppongi Hills and Marunouchi under the name "The pantry."

  • I am not overly impressed by the quality of the food at this location or at the one in Azabu Juban. As mentioned by another poster, the burgers lack seasoning. The portions are decent and it is nice to be able to get a beer but other than that, it is really no different than a fast food joint.

  • Forget everything you know about burger joints in Tokyo, for they all bow in reverence to Home Works. Aside from their amazing curly fries, fantastic onion rings, and decently priced beer, they have an amazing menu of specialty burgers. And, for the proverbial cherry on top...they deliver. For the patron a little sick of burgers of any description, they have a good selection of tasty sandwiches... Read More

  • I decided to take the family here on the written reviews and we were pretty happy when the fries and shake came as both were done absolutely right. The problem was with the burgers. They taste like they're made out of paste with no seasoning. I can't believe people actually like them. Seriously - you have a better chance of getting real beef at McDonalds.

  • Homeworks recently closed down to refurbish their home location giving way to a newer and welcoming environment for their burgers and sandwiches. This restaurant knows what it wants to do and does it somewhat right; all you'll find here are multiple variations on a burger and some other sandwiches. I went for their famous avocado burger (1200 yen for the regular size), which featured a big pa... Read More

  • If you are missing good American cooking, don’t go to McDonald’s, but Homework’s instead. When I first went in, I was skeptical as to whether or not it would be able to compare to American burger shops, but after seeing my food, I lost my skepticism. The atmosphere was really relaxed and it seemed to be the place where some foreigners met their Japanese friends. Homework’s reminded me a li... Read More
