This is a great place to go when you're in the mood for curry. I got the half portion of the beef curry, and it was delicious and satisfying. It was actually almost too big for me to finish! Another time I got the vegetable curry, which was absolutely delicious, and something that I would highly recommend. The food is affordable, and the atmosphere, while not particularly unique, was still nice. M... Read More
This curry restaurant is a chain with several convenient locations. They have curry rice with about anything you could imagine, including beef, chicken, and vegetables. They also have a half portion "ladies menu", which is a half serving of a normal order of curry, yet still enough for a satisfying meal, plus a drink for 430 yen, which is 200 yen less than the normal price. The curry I got was tof... Read More
This place caught me by surprise! This is a chain of shops serving curry rice as its specialty. Its like a fast food curry rice! I have walked passed this outlet a few times and each time there were lots of people feasting inside. I decided to try this for supper one evening since at midnight there weren't many options(this outlet closes at 1am!) First the layout of the restaurant was modern and c... Read More
CoCo's in my opinion is some of the best Japanese Curry you can get in Tokyo, the flavor is amazing. Being able to choose how spicy you want it to be is another bonus. A great place to go for some quick, but quality grub.
Coco Ichi is always a good choice if your in the mood for curry, although it is a little bit more pricey than its competitors.
One of my favorite "sides" is the cream crab croquettes. But their chicken is also very good. All of the "sides" are made after you order it, so it is very fresh. Another bonus is that you can customize your order according to how much rice you would like, how spicy ... Read More
Their curry pasta for 680 was pretty darn awesome. there were a variety of toppings in it too (mushrooms, seafood). I also tried their curry plate with tonkatsu (although they do have quite a variety about) with level 3 spiciness (you pay 60 yen, i think, up to level five; higher is 100 yen). i was gasping for water already, and i like spicy food!! well, i've been told people have gone higher with... Good, honest grub. The English menu makes ordering a breeze. Do yourself a favour and get the hand-prepared cutlets: they're bigger and thus well-suited for Western appetites.
If you're hungry, you'll need a starter/appetizer as well as a main/entree. Portions, while generous, are still Japanese size. An appy and an entree will run you about JPY 1200 if you go for one of the larger cutlets. ... Read More
Coco Ichibanya ("Coco Ichi" in Tokyo dialect) is the most famous budget curry rice in Tokyo. It's not quite fast-food because its sit down, but its in that category. You can choose from several different permutations of vegetable, chicken, pork, or beef curry, with plates starting at around 700 yen. I tried a side salad as well, which was decent - dark greens with a wafu dressing. The cool thing a... Read More
