Shanti
Shanti specializes in "soup curry," a dish born in Sapporo, Hokkaido. The soup curry at Shanti is made with natural spring water and dozens of spices to blend into its characteristic taste: despite being rather simple, the soup is spicy hot and deeply flavorful. Although the portions are on the small side, the chicken (slowly stewed in a special pot) is so soft and tender that it breaks apart when you touch your spoon to it. The tables are separated from each other with thin curtains, creating mini private rooms, and the atmosphere is pleasant. You can easily stop by with a friend or on your own. The level of spicy hot ranges from "1" to "40," and you can adjust your order to taste. Standard Japanese customers order their dishes at level "2."
