The Tokyo Michelin guide 2009 awarded Chez Tomo one star, recognizing it as an excellent restaurant in its category. The owner returned to Japan in 2002 to open his own restaurant after spending years training in France. The dishes are customized to every diner, and they boast that about 80 percent of their customers are regulars. The tasting menus change monthly, but some of the highlights include boudin noir, organic vegetable assortments, shirmp and fish a la Paul Bocuse, and brioche perdu for dessert. Over 80 wines provide a liquid counterpoint to the meal. On a sunny day, head to the terrace for al fresco dining. On the whole, Chez Tomo offers good value for a restaurant featured in the Michelin guide.
