The Tokyo Michelin guide 2008 awarded L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon two stars, recognizing it as an excellent restaurant in its category. Joel Robuchon is one of the most famous chefs worldwide, and L'Atelier is part of his attempts to reinterpret what a French dinning experience can be like. The dinning room plays with a contrast between red and black and only counter seats are available, accomodating 44 guests. The food combines French, Spanish and Japanese influences and can be sampled through a tasting menu or ordered a la carte. The wine list is equally global, with offerings from around the world.

  • I have been to several Robuchon restaurants and was a bit disappointed in this one. The food was good, but the staff was very uptight and bossy. I would not recommend this place to anyone except for a quick bite. Wine list is overpriced too. Try the Ebisu branch for a better experience.
