Quintessence
The Tokyo Michelin Guide 2009 awarded Quintessence three stars, recognizing it as one of the absolute best in the world. The head chef returned to Japan after a long stint in France to open his place in 2006 in Shirokanedai. The only option available is the chef's tasting menu that comes with seven dishes at lunch time and 13 at dinner. The menu changes daily and may even change from table to table, depending on what is available and the inspiration from the kitchen. The wine cellar holds over 500 bottles, which are on display by the entrance. The room has an elegant and contemporary feel, which combined with the dim lighting, creates a romantic venue.
