Deep in Kabukicho's love hotel territory is a discreetly elegant entrance to a distinctly inelegant 4 story temple to "horumon". This is Alps, where the beer is cheap and the guts are eaten with gusto: the place specializes in "horumon yaki" (yakiniku with a twist: literally meaning "throwaway", horumon is beef and pork offal).
Order a variety of horumon and cook it at your table over a tabletop charcoal grill or in a nabe. For those who are not into organ meats there are non-offal menu items, as well as some very cheap drinks (beer is often on for 100 yen per mug). The atmosphere is lively and sometimes rowdy, and usually packed with Japanese and foreigners alike.
