Ask any Japanese if they know Yamamoto yama, and almost 100 percent will reply that the tea house is famous for seaweed and tea. Yamamoto-yama has a long history, dating back to 1690, long before the country opened to the rest of the world. You can try a tea set in the cafe and shop for tea, sweets, and seaweed afterwards. It doesn't get more Japanese than this.
