This Swedish restaurant can be found in Akasak Tokyu Plaza, right next to Akasaka-mitsuke Station. Opened for business in 1971, Smorgasbord was the only restaurant in Japan specializing in Swedish food. Here you can enjoy authentic Swedish cuisine (using ingredients available by season) such as salmon marinade, meatballs, and apple pie. At lunch, they offer a “Special Lunch” (1,260 yen) which includes hors d’oeuvres, soup, salad, a main dish, dessert, bread and coffee, which is pretty popular. At dinnertime, for 6000 yen, they offer authentic traditional cuisine including over 60 different types of hors d’oeuvres made from fish, meat, vegetables, cheese, all the way up through dessert.
