Ippudo 一風堂 Ramen / Ginza

Ippudo's Ginza location is one of the most famous in the Hakata style ramen chain. The thin broth is made from pork bones, and unlike normal ramen, these noodles aren't curly and are chewy. There are two main ramen dishes. The first is akamaru shin-aji, which has a spicy miso base, though it's not very spicy. Second, shiomaru moto aji, which is a popular option because it's less fatty. If you're worried about leaving hungry, order kaedama or rice. Kaedama is simply another serving of noodles, which is great if you finish your noodles before your broth.

  • I enteredd Ippudo with high hopes, hearing from a friend that this place was the cat's pajamas and indeed she was not wrong. They have a great lunchtime deal offering ramen and gyoza together for a cheaper price. Sadly I came on a Saturday so that wasn't available. Ippudo caters to your preferences. The menu offers several different soup bases and their speciality is tonkatsu ramen with the broth ... Read More

  • Ippudo's Ginza location is great because the prices are not exceptionally high like other restaurants in Ginza. This location is small though so you might have to wait to get a seat. I had no trouble on a weeknight though. It's the same amazing taste. I recommend Shiro or Aka, which are my favorites. The dumplings are also amazing and are a must order for an appetizer. Definitely eat in at... Read More

  • I do believe the best thing about Ippudo is their website. It is just soooo amazingly cute and lego-like. Or it may just be for the Shibuya shop. Anyhow, the ramen is pretty good. I say go during lunch time, when you also get some gyoza with it. Otherwise, it's just kinda meh. There's a white ramen and a red ramen, and the guy asks some question about sauce or toppings or watnot before he leave... Read More

  • Ippudo, a Hakata-style ramen chain, comes highly recommended by the ramen cognoscenti and has even opened a branch recently in New York City. Usually it requires a bit of a wait to get in causing me to walk on by, but on one recent Saturday I saw some spare seats and managed to get away with just a little wait outside in the cold. Once you do make it inside, you will be greeted by a bustling, crow... Read More

  • I like the flavor of the ramen soups at this place... but they are so thick that i can barely get through one bowl! It's really tasty though and i highly recommend it to anyone who loves ramen! It was recommended to me by numerous Japanese friends of mine and so I think that's even more reason to try it out!!!

  • After visiting many ramen shops all throughout Japan, I have decided that Ippudo is my absolute favorite. Ippudo has four flavors of ramen: Akamaru Kasane-aji (Pork ramen original) Shiromaru Moto-aji (Pork ramen traditional) Karaka-men (Pork ramen spicy) Kiwami Shin-aji (Four flavors in one bowl) My favorites are Shiromaru and Akamaru. One of the best things about Ippudo is their amazin... Read More

  • Whenever coworkers or visitors ask me "what is the single overall best ramen shop that I should go in in the Ebisu area?" I tell them Ippudo:

  • Ippudo is a branch of the famous Hakata style ramen shop in Fukuoka. Located less than five minutes from Ebisu station on foot, this popular spot fills quickly on the weekends and at lunchtime, but had plenty of space on a Monday evening. An English menu is available and the courteous staff will produce it without hesitation, but all you need to know is “aka-maru” (red bowl), say this and in... Read More
