A ramen shop located near Ikebukuro Station, this place always has a line outside. At its longest, there can be more that 20 people waiting in line, but because of the restaurant’s fast service, even then there's not much of a wait. The soup is a simple pork-based broth. The basic soy sauce soup is cooked with 10 different ingredients. The noodles used are thick, but shrink a bit when they are cooked. The simple taste isn't just for the men; it's become popular among the ladies as well. One point to note: the large, medium, and small sized portions are all the same price.

  • Simply delicious. Tonchin Ramen is the best ramen I have had in Japan to date. I had to wait about 20 minutes before I was finally seated, but since I had already given my order, my food followed me quickly. It is definitely worth the wait. People of all sorts come here for lunch just to savor the taste. Like most ramen shops, you must buy order from a vending machine in the front of the store, bu... Read More
