This location is the main store of Sushi Sei, a chain which has more than twenty restaurants in Japan. The original shop was opened in 1889. Here, you can enjoy authentic style Edo sushi. The chef's choice, or omakase, is priced at 3,500 yen, and consists of the fresh fish of the day. If you prefer a table to a counter seat, go to the second floor.

  • The sushi here was surprisingly good. I went to the area to have my knives sharpened, and asked the people at the store for a lunch recommendation. I told them I was in the mood for sushi, but didn't want to drop 3,500 yen for the good places (the going rate for the set menus in tsukiji).   • I remember coming to this place on my first Tokyo trip in 1995, just a day before the Sarin gas tragedy around the Tsukiji area.
