Located in Omotesando, Miyakawa has been serving its light and simple Kansai-style tempura to loyal regulars for over 40 years. This neat little restaurant has room for ten at its counter and two tables that seat four each. For lunch, there is ten-don (rice topped with tempura, 1500yen, and 1800yen) and a tempura lunch set (2300yen). The course menu (6000yen) is recommended for dinner. Miyakawa's elegant Kansai-style tempura uses fresh vegetables and seafood in season, and is well worth the price.

  • This quite little restaurant helps fix any tempura craving you might be having. Although it was not especially crowded when I was there during the peak lunch hour, the food was not bad. I ordered tendon (1,500 yen) and watched the chef cook in right in front of my eyes through a plastic splatter guard that protected those at the counter from all the grease that shot out from the deep fryer.
