  • I went here for the Oiran Dochu (festival) in June. The place was really busy with local people in their Yukatas, eating Yakitori, okonomiyaki and Takoyaki, drinking beer and having a good time. There was an oiran parade through the streets at the foot of the shrine, and the festival was so enjoyable, that I plan to return again next year!   • If you're walking along the Tokaido Road, the old route connecting Tokyo and Kyoto, naturally there are many shrines and temples. I thought that Shinagawa Shrine was the best taking consideration of it's size and unique characteristics.
